What a Week UNDER 10’S FINAL WEEK – DIARY

Our lead up to the final was a little different than usual, we trained in the wet for the first time this year on the Wednesday and the boys loved the rain.

Friday night training was sharp and good.  After training we went into the club rooms along with the Auskickers and we all had dinner together and we read out the side for the Sunday Match.  After the team was read out the boys got together and sang the club song to all family and friends with passion.

The boys showed up on Sunday at West Coburg ready to the play.  They ran through the Banner with the words ‘A CLUB FULL OF CHAMPIONS – A TEAM OF GOOD MATES.  They were focused from the word GO.

Our 1^st quarter was excellent, all the boys listened to instructions and stayed on there man.  They were playing as a team. We scored the 1^st goal.

Our 2^nd quarter the boys took the pedal off and allowed Tullamarine to sneak back in but there concentration was only gone for a moment.

Our 3^rd quarter after coming back from half time the boys came out and played smart and touched the football at every opportunity. At the 3^rd quarter huddle Joe Misiti reved the boys up and sent them on a mission.

Our 4^th quarter the boys went into the 4^th quarter down by 1 point but that was not going to stop them.  It went back and forth back and forth and then we kicked a point.  Scores were level at Brearley Park.   The siren went and we had to play extra time 2 5 minute quarters.

You could see in the boys eyes they wanted it GAME ON.

1^st 5 minutes both sides put everything they had into it, but Keilor Park weren’t finished yet. This quarter finished still tied.

2^nd 5 minutes was all Keilor Park running  over top of Tullamarine kicking 2 magnificent goals to send us to the Semi Finals.

What a game it was Heartwrenching – we deserved to win.
