Club Update – Feb 2010

CLUB PARTNERS ON BOARD
Running a club is very difficult and the sponsorship from many businesses is a major asset to the success of the Keilor Park Football Club. The club has some great news with the following major sponsors on board for season 2010:

Majority of sponsors from 2009 are also onboard which is great financially for the club. The club is also in discussions with some major business to become Partners of the Keilor Park FC. The club see’s all sponsors as “ Partners of the club” and is looking to enhance these relationships and provide business back to these great supporters.
JUNIOR UPDATE
The club is in rebuilding phase with the Junior part of the club with a big focus on recruiting talented young footballers and families to join our GREAT Family Club. The club has created some great alliances with some very large primary schools in the Sydenham Hillside area to assist with recruitment.
The Club is holding a REGISTRATION DAY / FOOTBALL CLINIC on the 27th February (from 10am to 12pm) @ PARKWOOD GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL. All welcome to attend and assist.
The club is very determined to field 4 very strong junior sides in 2010 and requires the support of all Keilor Park people to assist with this. Please call Michael with any new junior players.
Michael Dragani, Peter Boyles and especially Kim Boyles have been fantastic in getting this important day off the ground.
The junior B & F winners will be named after the players Misiti, Mercuri, Peverill and Koulouriotis which is a great club initiative.
Junior Training will begin on the 3rd March, 2010. Venue to be confirmed with the likelihood of junior training for the first month to be held at both Keilor Park FC and Parkwood Green in Sydenham to assist with the maintenance of the ground.
SENIOR UPDATE
The club moves into season 2010 full of confidence after playing finals in 2009 for the first time in 8 years.
The club has identified some key areas required to move forward and recruited some great talent for 2010.
Andrew Green (brother of Johnny) and Grant Hately are 2 very good young players from Seymour that join the club in 2010. They are also joined by former B&F players Chris Smith and Andrew Scifo (3 times B & F). A Grade Premiership player Jarad Morrison also joins some of his very good mates at KP for season 2010.
Senior coach Marcus Barclay has also employed Werribee VC Robbie Castello to implement and run a very professional training regime during the off season. The players have been regularly tested and have all improved with skin folds, strength, speed and endurance. Marcus was after a minimum 15% improvement from all players who played senior football in 2009.
Marco Castello is welcomed on board as Reserves Coach with Dom Corsino (from Airport West) as his assistant. Joe Zucco will remain in his position as Football Manager, Paul Barrow as the senior team runner. Chris Smith and Mark Zucco will be playing assistants for season 2010.
Volunteers are welcome to assist with running water, goal/boundary umpiring, property steward and various other roles. See Adam Papal, Marcus or Lorraine Watt if interested.
The senior teams focus will to be to climb up the ladder and play finals footy again in 2010.
The Practice Matches are 13th March v Sunshine Heights at Home, 20th @ StAlbans, 28th @ Kilmore.
UNDER 18’S (pathway program)
The Pathway Program has been launched in season 2010, a program that has been implemented to provide a pathway for 16-18 year old kids with Football and Life. The program provides an opportunity for the players to potentially play VFL football with the Northern Bullants (Club Partner) or through to the Keilor Park Seniors.
The program has a very unique option also with the opportunity for all players to complete Work Experience in there preferred field for season 2010. This great initiative will assist in these young people making long term career choices.
Under 18 Coach Ben Crabb has been working hard on recruiting and training players in the off season, with over 20 players training with the club. Great effort Ben! Any new players please call Adam Papal on 0413 949 037.
